Tokuyama College of Technology aims to educate the students to be future engineers with a world-class competitive edge, practical skills, and competence in research and development. Engineers with practical skills and competence in research and development must have a solid grounding in their specialized field, be able to combine and organize their multidisciplinary knowledge, use superior sensibilities and creativity, and find and solve problems on their own. On the other hand, engineers with a worldclass competitive edge must be cultured, have high ethical standards and excellent communication skills including advanced language proficiency so that they may be able to adapt themselves not only to engineers' circles and the organizations they belong to but also to society or even to the global community where people with different cultural backgrounds live. We aim to train our students to be such excellent engineers.
   In order to achieve our aim, we offer a seven-year consecutive course of study, a fiveyear undergraduate course and a two-year advanced course. Thus, our students can broaden their education and special knowledge. Also, they can learn to utilize their ample knowledge to solve practical problems in the real world.
